The place
A circle out on the white salt under the moon: the cracked crust silvered to the horizon, a raised ivory platform with an indigo rim, one pierced terracotta lamp at its middle, clay panels set with mirrors, the musicians on an indigo durrie, and round bhunga huts lit from within out on the salt.
