40,000 Synchronized Dancers
Entered the Limca Book of Records for the largest continuous circular dance congregation.
Concentric Wave Motion
Over thirty rings moving in unison like a living, breathing mandala across the refinery grounds.
360-Degree Center Stage
An elevated central pavilion broadcasting acoustic energy evenly to the outer perimeters.
World Record Scale: Forty thousand dancers on a single field.
The spectacle of Maa Shakti Garba defies imagination. Stretching across multiple football fields of refinery lawn, the venue hosts up to forty thousand registered dancers and another thirty thousand spectators each night. Recognized by the Limca Book of Records, this massive gathering maintains pristine choreography without relying on barriers or whistles.
Concentric Geometry: The living cosmic mandala in motion.
At the heart of the ground sits an elevated, ornately decorated Garbi shrine with a continuous burning Akhand Jyot. From this focal point, dancers assemble in concentric rings. The innermost circles, composed of seasoned veterans, set the rotational tempo, which cascades outwards ring by ring. When viewed from above, the swirling colors of bandhani and mirror-work create a living mandala.
Acoustic Engineering: Conquering sound delay across vast distances.
Coordinating forty thousand dancers requires master audio engineering. Maa Shakti pioneered concentric delay loudspeaker rings calibrated to fractions of a millisecond. This ensures dancers at the outer boundary hear the dhol beat in exact synchrony with those nearest the singers, preventing phase lag and tempo collapse across the ground.
Spiritual Discipline: Traditional codes amidst massive crowds.
Despite its astonishing scale, Maa Shakti enforces strict cultural decorum. Only dancers in authentic Gujarati attire are permitted onto the dance lawn. The music remains traditional Sugam and folk Garba, climaxing with a breathtaking midnight Maha Aarti where thousands of brass lamps flicker together against the dark sky.
